Most Bible prophecy teachers agree that the rebirth of Israel was the most important event connected to end time events and that event did occur in 1948. 1948 Connection To Bible Prophecy - Major EventsThe Jews were restored to their homeland after being dispersed among the nations for close to 2000 years. One of the 10 prophecies comes from the book of Amos: 9:14-15, "I will bring back my exiled people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God." 1948 began the fulfillment of this prophecy. Now that Israel has become a nation, it is here permanently. It does not matter how much the world cries against this nation nor does it matter that the surrounding Arab countries proclaim they will wipe this nation off the face of the planet. God said this country was here to stay and He will see to it. Can any country or army make war with the Creator of the Universe? The first issue of the magazine the Atomic Scientist introduced the Doomsday Clock was introduced in June of 1947, It was set a 7 minutes til midnight. The book of Revelation outlines a series of judgments from God that seem to portray a global nuclear war. Bell Labs and AT&T developed the transistor which led to the birth of the computer age. This will lead to the coming of the Mark of the Beast that even non Bible students have heard of. GATT - The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade was created. This paved the way for a global economy. Gatt was replaced by the World Trade Organization. The Bible speaks of a one world economy controlled by the coming Antichrist. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights - the constitution of the United Nations was created in 1948. The beginning of a global government. The book of Revelation speaks of a coming ruler who will reign over the entire world. The Treaty of Rome was signed. This was the beginning of the European Economic Community which is now the European Union. Many believe this will become the revived Roman empire from which Antichrist will rule. The World Council of Churches was formed in Amsterdam that year. This was the beginning of the Ecumenical church which will lead to a one world religion. This teaches that all religions are paths to God which is contrary to what Jesus said about Himself, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 Satan will use this idea of all paths leading to God to help bring the Antichrist. When Antichrist comes to power, scripture tells us that all who refuse to worship him will be killed. "He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed." Rev. 13:15. Ironically, God will use the coming Antichrist to destroy all the false religions in the world. The Treaty of Brussels was also signed that year. This was the predecessor of NATO, another global organization.
