Bible Prophecy: Proof of the Validity Of The Bible

What is so important about bible prophecy? Let's consider the words of Peter: We have also a more sure word of prophecy 2 Peter 1:19 - According to Peter there is nothing more sure than the the prophetic word of God as written in the Holy Bible.

When someone has doubts and wonders if the Bible is really true or not, all they have to do is examine bible prophecy and the prophecies that have already been fulfilled and the prophecies that are being fulfilled today and the prophecies yet to be fulfilled. A careful examination of bible prophecy should convince the most skeptical person of the authenticity of the Bible, if that person is honest with themselves.

For example, there are numerous Old Testament prophecies that were fulfilled by Jesus Christ.

Old Testament Prophecy: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." Isa. 7:14

New Testament fulfillment by Jesus: "21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matthew Chapter 1

The Old Testament stated a virgin would give birth to a son. The virgin that did give birth to the son of God was Mary and the birth was foretold to Mary by an angel of God who even told Mary the name she was to give her child.

Old Testament Prophecy: "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not." Isa 53:3

New Testament fulfillment by Jesus: "He came unto his own, and his own received him not." John 1:11

"And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:" Luke 23:18

Here we have another complete fulfillment of bible prophecy. Jesus was the Messiah of Israel and the Jewish people rejected Him. They chose to release a criminal in His place.

Old Testament Prophecy: "Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause" Psalm 35:19

New Testament fulfillment by Jesus: "24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. 25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause." John Chapter 15

These are just three of many examples of bible prophecy that has already been fulfilled and it is bible prophecy that validates the word of God which is more commonly known as the Holy Bible.

The odds of just 8 prophecies comings to pass is 1 in 1017. There are 700 prophecies in the Bible that center around Jesus.

Israel is the key to understanding and validating bible prophecy. The Israelites (Jews) are the most unique people in history. They were chosen by God. Anyone who is a direct descendant of Abraham and Sarah's son, Isaac, is a Jew. On the other hand, anyone who is a direct descendant of Abraham's and Hagar's son, Ishmael, are Arabs. The Arabs claim that the land of Israel was promised to Ishmael but that is not what the Bible says. It specifically names Isaac as the one whose seed all of the nations would be blessed. Of course, Isaac is Abrahams's seed. The nations are blessed because Jesus Christ redeemed the whole world from sin by his atoning sacrifice on the cross and Jesus is in Isaac's lineage. The current Arab-Israeli conflict can be traced back to Abraham and his two half-brother sons Isaac and Ishmael.

Only one nation in the history of mankind has kept their identity despite being overrun by other nations repeatedly. What other country besides Israel has been forced to leave their home land, dwell with other nations and cultures, and still manage to maintain their identity?

In the year 70 A.D., the Roman army destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the Israelites had to leave their homeland and make homes in other countries. This lasted for almost 2,000 years. In 1948, Israel was once again declared to be the home of the Jews. These events were foretold by bible prophecy.

Israel becoming a nation fulfilled Matthew 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteh forth leave, ye know that summer is nigh.

How do we know Israel is the fig tree? Consider these two Old Testament verses which identify Israel as the fig tree. Hosea 9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the FIG TREE at the first time:Here the early Jewish people are referred as the first fruit in a FIG TREE.

In the first chapter of Joel we read of a nation wreaking havoc upon Israel and verse 7 states "He hath laid my vine (Israel) waste and barked my FIG TREE". Here again Israel is referred to as a FIG TREE.

What is happening in Israel today? Jews from every country are returning to their home land. Does prophecy talk about this? Jeremiah 23:3 states "And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries wither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase" Isaiah 43:5 & 6 state Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; and I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from afar, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; There is no doubt about it. The Jews are returning to their homeland from every corner of the earth. Prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes!

Want further proof? In Ezekiel chapter 36, God addresses the Israelites24For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. The Jews have the best army in the world today, the smartest scientists, and live in a little strip of land that the whole world disputes because the nations of this world are under Satan's control. The nations of the world will bring about their own destruction because God said And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

What about all the trouble that is happening in Israel? This is simply Satan trying to prevent Bible Prophecy from being fulfilled. If Satan can make God out to be a liar, then Satan changes the nature of God and becomes victorious. Remember when Hitler tried to exterminate the Jewish race? This was simply a satanic effort to thwart prophecy. What was the result of Hitler's atrocities? Israel became a nation, in a large part due to Hitler's persecution and hatred of the Jews. Hitler committed suicide and a nation was reborn. Satan's plan backfired. Satan knows bible prophecy better than we do and that is why he is always trying to stop bible prophecy from coming to pass.

All the world is going to persecute Israel and Jerusalem, but this will simply lead to the return of Jesus Christ to set up his earthly kingdom where Jesus Christ will rule as King of the Earth!

Israel is only a small piece of land about the size of Rhode Island in the USA but the Muslims want it for themselves. The Palestinians (Arabs) are always at odds with the Jews. This stuff is always in the news and the violence is only going to get worse. The violence is going to end and there will one day be peace in Israel and the whole world. Study bible prophecy and you can see the truth of this for yourself. Right now all of the surrounding countries of Israel are Islamic. All hate Israel. All are arming themselves to the teeth. They all have but one goal: the destruction of Israel. Why? Because Satan wants it destroyed so bible prophecy cannot be fulfilled and thus Satan will have achieved a sort of stalemate with God. It's not going to happen. When the Islamic countries attack Israel (and they will) it will be to their own destruction because God will do it himself. This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.Zech. 14:12

Sounds like nuclear warfare doesn't it? Of course this could be God Himself doing it. God usually works through humans to fulfill prophecy but He can do the supernatural as He did with Moses and the Egyptians. Israel has said it would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if faced with no other alternative except surrender. They are not going to surrender. Pray for the country and the men/women who want Israel destroyed. They are actually fighting God himself.

When you have doubts about the Bible, always remember the prophetic word.

Bible Prophecy: Evidence For The Reliability Of The Bible

Below are videos which depict how the 7th Day Adventists believe bible prophecy will play out. Although I am in disagreement with certain aspects of these videos such as the belief that the Rapture and Return are the same event, that Israel has no part in the end time scenario, that there is no 1000 year reign on earth, and others, the videos are still fascinating to watch.

The scriptures used will come to pass but I don't think in exactly the way they are depicted here. This also illustrates how bible prophecy can be misunderstood and we will not know exactly how they will play out until they are fulfilled.
