Millions of people have put their faith in the Bible and its central character, Jesus Christ. Millions of others completely ignore the Bible choosing to believe in other religions or claiming to not believe in anything. Is the Bible a book of mysteries or a book of divine revelation or a book of tall tales?
Which brings us to the question. Can the Bible be trusted? Or is the Bible a mystery?
Consider these three biblical statements.
1. In hope of eternal life
which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began. Titus 1:2 Here it is revealed that God cannot do something that Satan or the Devil is very proficient at. God cannot tell a falsehood but Satan can. Most people fail to realize this. To them it is just a Bible Mystery.
2. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21
Who wrote the Bible? God did, but he used people to do the physical part. This nullifies the argument that the Bible was written by men and therefore subject to error. The only errors may have been in the translation from Hebrew and Greek to the English language.
3. We have also a more sure word of prophecy;whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19 Prophecy is the greatest Bible Mystery of all. Prophecy is the proof that God exists and God is the author of the Bible.
The Bible tells us that it is impossible for God to lie. The Holy Spirit wrote the Bible and there is nothing more sure than Bible Prophecy.
The Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost is a part of God. God is a triune being. God the father is a spirit. God the son is the physical aspect of God (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit is also spirit.
Consider that Genesis Chapter 1 verse 26 says, "And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness." Notice that God refers to himself in the plural.
Man was created in the image of God. Man is a triune being. He has a body, spirit, and soul. Concerning God, Jesus is the body, God is the soul, and the Holy Spirit is the spirit.
The first verse of the Bible says that God created the heavens and earth. If God cannot lie, then everything you see must have been created by God. This makes the theory of evolution a big joke and a big lie. Of course, if the first verse of the Bible is not true, then none of the Bible can be trusted.
So, how do we test the validity of the Bible?
The answer is prophecy. Every prophecy in the Bible must come true if God cannot lie. There are hundreds of prophecies in the Bible. Many have already come to pass. Yet, there are many more waiting to be fulfilled. The law of compound probabilities tells us that the posibility or chance of each one of these being fulfilled is about one in a billion.
Since God cannot lie, every prophecy in the Bible must come true because God wrote the Bible. Statistics are against it. Let's see how God has thrown statistics out the window.
