-------------The Day After Tomorrow--------

The Day After Tomorrow is a science fiction (emphasis on fiction) movie which depicts what might happen if the polar ice caps melted within a day and the earth entered an ice age almost instantaneously. Although I haven't seen the movie yet, I believe the story line is just an excuse to showcase some groundbreaking special effects.

Could planet earth enter another ice age? Could the polar ice caps melt and flood the coastal cities of the world? What does the bible say about Earth's future?

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

This verse makes environmentalists seem like candidates for the funny farm. Our president claims there is no "global warming" crisis and he is 100% correct. The month of May saw a record number of tornadoes touch down in the United States and other parts of the country were unseasonably warm and weather patterns do seem a little off kilter. Is this due to "global warming"?

I believe that the freaky weather is due to the fact that Jesus is preparing to return to Earth soon and He is trying to warn the world to be ready. During the coming tribulation period, weather will be very violent. This won't be due to "global warming". It will be due to God's judgments for God/Jesus cannot set up His earthly kingdom until the world is purged of sin. That will take some doing.

Could the polar ice caps melt during the tribulation? Maybe. The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. Revelation 8:7 Things are going to get hot during the tribulation period and this could possibly effect the polar ice caps The fact that it is going to get hotter proves there won't be another ice age.

And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. Revelation 16:9 Even after enduring God's judgments, sinful mankind will not repent and turn to God. Instead, they will worship the coming antichrist.

When I was in Myrtle Beach, I couldn't help but think how easily one strong hurricane could easily wipe out the entire city. The average temperature for Myrtle Beach the time of year that I was there is 70 degrees. It got close to 90 degrees everyday I was there. I couldn't help but think of Luke 21:25 which states And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; This verse is referring to the tribulation period.

The population of the world at the time will be afraid and totally puzzled about how weird and wacky the weather is. All because of the sea and waves roaring. The melting of the polar ice caps could cause this if that is the way God plans to execute His judgments. The closer we get to the tribulation period, the more "sneak previews" we will see. One thing we will never see is flash frozen people.

Over 500 tornadoes touched down in the U.S. in May of 2004. During the tribulation, that number is more likely to be something like 5,000. For the Christian, today is grace, tomorrow is tribulation, and the day after tomorrow is a wonderful thing to behold because Jesus will be King on Earth.
