-------Psychic Vampires---------

What in the world is a psychic vampire? Anton Lavey's satanic statement number 6 states: Satan represents responsibility to the responsible, instead of concern for psychic vampires!

There is an element of truth in this statement. Everyone is responsible for the decisions they make. The main reason we are here is to choose to either accept Christ and His sacrifice on the cross so that we might live eternally or to outright reject Him which results in eternal separation from God. Where we spend eternity is our responsibility. In fact, you cannot enjoy freedom in this life without being responsible.

Do you want to drive a car? In order to do that, you must first prove that you can operate a vehicle in a responsible manner. Having a few drinks then wrecking your car will result in the loss of the freedom to get into and operate that vehicle. Criminals who spend their lives in prison are there because they failed to be responsible in keeping society's laws. Their irresponsibility resulted in the loss of their freedom. The more responsible you become, the more freedom you enjoy. That almost sounds like a contradiction but the principle is true and applies to your family life, your work life, and your school life.

Satan represents responsibility to the responsible. This actually makes good common sense. Can any good thing come from Satan? I seriously doubt it. This statement adds the almost incomprehensible phrase "instead of concern for psychic vampires". A psychic vampire is a person who feeds off the energy of another person.

There are a few web pages that purport the theory that psychic vampires are real. If there is anything that drains the energy from a person, it is oppression. Oppression usually comes from the work of demonic spirits. The spirit of oppression can take the form of a controlling or jealous husband, a nagging wife or girlfriend, the neighborhood bully, or a too strict parent. The work of the Holy Spirit lifts other people up. The work of the satanic spirit puts people down.

The satanic statement of being responsible but have no concern for those who are oppressors is a contradiction because oppression comes from Satan.

There are people who make you feel emotionally drained after you have been around them. This is not because they are "psychic vampires", it's because they have very selfish personalities. Selfishness is the root of sin. Jesus lived only to serve others. It's when we live only for our own gain that result in the times that we sin the most.

If a psychic vampire is simply a person who hasn't learned to consider others because they are so selfish, and if selfishness is the root of sin, then you could translate satanic statement number 6 to read "Satan represents responsibility to the responsible, instead of concern for sinners!"

Now who would not be concerned for sinners? I believe the Satanists have it right on this one.
